About

Born and raised in rural Midwest, United States, Deedrie LaFollette grew up in a family of makers. After making her first quilt in 1997, she began working with a variety of textiles. Returning to quilting in 2010, when she began exploring the traditions of quilt making, designing quilts that often centre on a historic block.

Deedrie often stitches her works entirely by hand, from piecing the first patches of fabric together to attaching the binding to finish the edges to give every quilt the softness that can usually only be found in well-loved antique quilts. Now living in England, Deedrie finds comfort in mixing pattern, colour, history, and emotion into each quilt with the hopes that these pieces will go on to give comfort to those who enjoy them.
